The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs recommends that draft proposals be entered into MUSE seven business days prior to the published funding agency deadline. The final version of the grant proposal is due for submission two business days before the deadline. A grant application is considered final when it has been reviewed and approved through electronic signatures by the principal investigator’s department and college, the Office of Sponsored Programs Administrative Network, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs with all requested corrections made. This process begins when the principal investigator signs off electronically for institutional review.
Draft grant applications should be received by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at least seven business days prior to the deadline.
Final grant applications must be received by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs 48 hours (two business days) before the published application deadline.

The goal of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs review is to ensure adherence with application guidelines and federal, state, funding agency, and campus guidelines. Office of Research and Sponsored Programs grants administrators need time to provide a thorough review of each application.
Investigators need time to correct applications based on the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs review. Office of Research and Sponsored Programs workflow efficiency and effectiveness are reduced when proposals are not submitted in a timely fashion.
